What is Dermacia?

Dermacia is a new type of liquid foundation that is silica gel based and allows your skin to breath. Nearly every other makeup including oil based, cream, mineral-based and even waterbased cosmetics sit on the surface of your skin, essentially *suffocating* it. The silca-gel based Dermacia contains and exlusive, patented formula that actually allows your skin to get the oxygen that it needs and leaves you with a more illuminated complextion.

The infommercial for Dermacia has been run late at night recently and features Rachel Hunter, who endorses Dermacia.

Dermacia claims to be "transfer resistant", which means that it won't wipe or rub off onto your clothing. Not only that, but it is water resistant. They say it can be worn in the water for up to 90 minutes and comes with SPF 15 so it helps to protect your skin from UV rays.

It is a light foundation, so it doesn't seem like it would cover well, but surprisingly Dermacia covers better than the foundation sticks or heavy creams without looking like your face is made-up. Dermacia is a great choice for women with acne, rosacea, uneven skin tone, scars and very senstive skin. It improves the appearance and condition of the skin without being at all irritating.

Dermacia Review : Does Dermacia Work?

Dermacia does work, and it works well. It takes a little bit of getting used to, though. It has a rather odd consistency compared to other foundations, and it is easy to apply too much of it if you use your fingers. However, if you apply it with a brush the way you are supposed to the finish is flawless and it really does look like you don't have makeup on.

It gives great coverage for blemishes and discolorations without being thick and heavy. Also, it really is "transfer proof" like they claim and doesn't rub off onto clothing.

Dermacia feels nice to wear, probably because it lets the air through so it doesn't feel like you are really wearing makeup. It gives a lovely, even tone to skin and the colors can be mixed to get the perfect shade for your skin.

The only complaint I have about Dermacia is that it dries very quickly so you have to be pretty fast when you apply it - no dilly dallying! At first this is frustrating, but once you get the application technique down application is very easy and you can get your makeup on quickly.

How Do You Apply Dermacia?

You apply Dermacia using a brush, which is a new concept to a lot of women. Most of us are used to slathering foundation on with our fingers or with sponges, but using a brush allows you to apply the Dermacia foundation with precision and blend it to an even, flawless finish. Most of the top make-up artists in the world apply foundation with brushes (which a lot of women don't know), so it makes perfect sense to apply Dermacia with a brush as well.

You can get brushes from the Dermacia website, or you can use your own makeup brushes from home. The brush doesn't need to be anything fancy - just something that you can use to apply and blend the foundation.
